Marc Henri Van Tendeloo was born in Belgium in 1963 and during his childhood, until his adolescence, he spent most of his time drawing and painting. He graduated in psychology and economics and today he is a consultant in the field of pharmaceutical development.

Only in 2022 did he rediscover his vocation for painting, which had long been put aside. As a self-taught he creates works with great passion and creative enthusiasm. He lives immersed in nature between Terracina and Sperlonga, on the shores of Lake Fondi from which he draws inspiration.

His works arise from the memories of dreams in the harsh reality of dawn. Sometimes dreams are truer than reality while reality can appear like a nightmare. Dream or reality, what comes first? Only what takes shape in the mind counts: joy, dismay, anger, escape or fantasy. Painting on the thin line between dream and reality, his works represent what is illogical, absurd or mysterious.

He began sharing his first works (www.marc-henri.eu) by participating in local events such as the collective exhibitions, Il Porticato Gaetano, at the art Gallery “Antonio Sapone” of Gaeta and the international exhibitions of Arte in Cammino in Rome

In 2024 his impasto painting “February 29^th 2024” won the Capitolium prize 2024 in the Angelica Gallery in Rome May 2024 (https://www.imparziale.com/2024/05/23/gran-successo-del-vernissage-arte-in-cammino-premio-capitolium-2024/)  and “Ape” was retained to participate in the Festival of figurative art and hyperrealism in Civitavecchia (https://www.ilpiaceredellarte.it/4%20Festival/quartoFestivalOpere.html).  He was also invited to participate in the 122nd event of the famous “CentoPittori Via Margutta”.
